Persimmon Blossom Ya SaiChina, Phoenix Oolong Tea

The scent of the dry leaf is a standout among similar teas: there's the familiar art school palette of smells but with this tea there's also a delicious note of toast. Nice large wiry lightly twisted leaf is mostly black. It's a quintessential oolong with a sweet nuance in the full-bodied smooth flavor and a lovely floral aroma. The wet leaf is green and you can really see the exquisite craftsmanship that can be expected from this remarkably pricy offering. This sample cost $9 and 2 oz would cost $62.
